Who is Hannah Lunt?

I grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, also known as The Land of Enchantment. I’ve always had a desire to express myself creatively through fine arts and theatre. I attended New Mexico School for the Arts high school, where I studied theatre for four years. After high school, I attended Ohio University to study Theatre Production, Design, and Technology.

I was originally an actor in my Freshman year of college, fully prepared to audition for the BFA acting track at the end of the school year. However, as I always say, everything happens for a reason, and during one of my required tech classes, I chose to be on the Hair and Makeup run crew for one of our productions. I found joy within that work that I realized had been lacking with acting. I knew I wanted to stay in theatre, but in what capacity? Through hours of conversations with my professors and countless phone calls with my mom, it just made sense for me to pursue a costume/crafts track with an emphasis in hair, makeup, and wardrobe. It brought me the satisfaction that was missing in my life up until that point. I’ve always been interested in hair and makeup, I specifically remember my mom scolding me for wearing eyeliner in middle school, which only fueled my passion/obsession.

Four years later, I graduated with a BFA in Theatre Production, Design, and Technology. After graduation, I was fortunate enough to work at Texas Shakespeare Festival’s summer stock as a wig stylist/wig run crew. Then, procured a job at Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, PA as the Wig Supervisor/Hair and Makeup Coordinator. I worked at Walnut Street Theatre for one season and chose to move on to be the Assistant Head of Hair and Makeup at Alabama Shakespeare Festival. After one year of employment at ASF, I was promoted to the Head of Hair and Makeup. As of recently, I have decided to obtain my cosmetology degree at the Douglas J Aveda Institute in Chicago.

I love to create and lead, and that reflects in my work ethic and the products my team and I produce. I am excited for what the future holds, but for now, you can find me playing with hair for a living.
